Grace Good - THE Girl On Fire 🔥

TL;DR

TL;DR - Imagine taking a flame and lighting your body on fire. Your heart stops for a second, but you relax because you don’t burn. The experience may sound unrealistic, but it’s Grace Good’s day to day with a little help from her friends (fire safety extraordinaires of course). 🔥

Like a moth to a flame...Grace LOVES fire. Think less pyromaniac and more constant awe and awareness of its beauty and danger. How does someone develop enough training to stay safe in the face of danger and enjoy it? In Grace’s case, fire is not only one of her greatest loves as a performer but what makes her stand out in the growing circus environment. As an entertainer, Grace has made a name for herself by looking fear directly in the face while performing with fire and thriving off of it. She has always been passionate about pushing the limits of her work, taking it now to a new level and becoming the Girl on Fire.

Grace was drawn to the flame at eighteen when she first saw fire performers at a party. “The danger element is what drew me to like it - how taboo it was to like fire,” she says. This ignited her passion. She started training with hula hoops, so she was prepared for the next time she saw another fire performer. Grace said, “It was a euphoric moment. I spun the hula hoop and it was amazing, and when it was done it felt like a movie moment where everyone clapped.” The moment that came next is what changed the trajectory of Grace’s career; Jordan Remar (@flexibleserpent) invited her out with a group of performers in Nashville for the night. “It’s how I got into performing. That was my first moment of being an entertainer and I loved it,” she says.

It’s been years since that moment in Grace’s career, and she has become the true Girl on Fire. Most recently, she used a pyro technique in her semifinalist performance of America’s Got Talent where she became a “human firework.” This trick is new for Grace’s fire-performing , which could make it seem dangerous, but Grace emphasizes the importance of safety within her work. With this trick, she worked with Las Vegas-based fire performer Antonio Restivo (@the_father_of_fire), along with the rest of her safety team. “Before I do anything, I plan to do a trick. I rely on my team of safeties. If something goes wrong, I know I’m in good hands.” She says that it takes years to perfect a movement or trick before incorporating fire into it, and she will practice it multiple times, even on the day of a performance, to make sure she is confident.

Grace wants to push the limits of her work in all that she does. She loves fire because of its danger and the fact that it allows her to push her boundaries as a performer. “If I’m scared of something, that’s exciting. It means I’m pushing my limits,” she says. Grace has been working with fire for years and is at the forefront of bringing the performance art to a new level.

The adrenaline rush Grace gets through working with fire inspires her to keep bringing the medium to more and more people. With her work on America’s Got Talent and other major events coming up, she’s definitely on a hot streak ❤️‍🔥#SpreadtheGOOD
